    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.screaminlizard.com/forums/member_profile.asp?PF=91">savage</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> jk hemi swap questions<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 12 Sep 2009 at 10:43am<br /><br />Hey guys, just found this forum and it looks like a great place to ask some questions for jk/hemi swaps.<br>I notice tons of pics etc of the swaps but not much detail about what all is really involved. <br>Ive got alot of questions but would start out with the obvious one, where is the best place to get a hemi to swap?&nbsp; This seems like a no-brainer right? you either order it new or get it from a donor vehicle.<br>I planned on going to donor route mostly because to me it "seems" cheaper, often you can get the tranny with the motor, ive seen both with less than 30,000 miles on the clock for 3,000$. <br>now i know if i went with a donor vehicle i could either get the computer(s) from that vehicle and the harness (or buy harness seperate) OR buy the engine and computer(s) separate and later have chrysler flash the VIN etc. <br>which of these would be the truly "best" option? donor vs new. what are the pro's and cons?<br>if i go the donor route, which donor vehicles are ideal? ive heard the Dodge trucks are not ideal due to the way the belt driven accessories are mounted. is this true?<br>Also id prefer a manual transmission 6spd if i could get it, what models would match up properly?<br>thanks for any answers, ive got plenty more questions though!<br><br><br>]]>
