![]() Topic: Suspension question - Control armsPosted: 19 Aug 2008 at 7:25pm |

I've got a 97 TJ, bought it bone stock a while back and put a 3.5" lift on it and some 33's. Also at the same time I added a SYE and a new rear drive shaft. I'm still getting some vibration at around 40-45mph due to the pinion angle being too low now.
My question is: Do I need upper and lower control arms or will lower ones do what I need and allow me to get my pinion angle right? I'd like to replace them all, but for now I just wanted to see if the lowers would do what I need. If not, I'll just wait and do them all at the same time. I'd appreciate any info or advice. |

By shorting your lower arms will increase your pinion angle, but will also move the wheel centerline forward. Its best to do both, lengthen the uppers and shrink the lowers.
